How the Opta Pre-ping Works

This article explains how to set up pre-pings in Opta and how you can use pre-ping to reduce rejections.

In Opta, you can set up a pre-ping to your target endpoint (buyer, CRM, dialer, etc.) that fires partial lead data to the endpoint to check if the lead is worth posting. This is done under the pre-ping section when managing a campaign.

If you're posting into Opta, you can also use the Opta pre-ping. This is visible from the posting instructions.

This maps to any existing client/endpoint pre-ping. If no client/endpoint pre-ping exists, the Opta pre-ping will ping the existing records in the campaign.

The Opta pre-ping also checks several other factors before returning an acceptable response:

  • Is the publisher linked?

  • Is the campaign active?

  • Does the data match the campaign's targeting?

  • Is the campaign at cap?

  • Is the pre-ping occurring during campaign active hours?

Note: Opta does not currently support ping-post. We plan to develop a ping-pick-post model in the future. This will be fully compliant with the FCC's new 1:1 consent ruling.
