This video explains how to add fields and configure a POST destination for your campaign:

Step 1: Add Fields to the Campaign

Each campaign begins with a set of active fields. You can mark fields as required or optional depending on your needs.

Types of Fields

  • Basic Fields – Standard registration fields like name, email, phone

  • Custom Fields – Fields you define manually (e.g., “Are you a homeowner?”)

To create a custom field:

  1. Enter a label (e.g., “Are you a homeowner?”)

  2. Choose the field type (e.g., dropdown, textbox)

  3. Add options manually or upload a file to bulk import options

  4. Save the field

Step 2: Create a New Posting

Once your fields are set, go to the Posting tab and create a new posting.

  • Add required variables (e.g., TrustedForm)

  • Set the type (preset, static, mapped)

  • Save and move into the Posting Flow Designer

Step 3: Configure the Posting Flow

Inside the Posting Flow Designer, you’ll:

Posting Settings

  • Name and describe the flow

  • Set the environment: Live, Staging, In Progress, or Paused

  • Choose Real-Time or Delayed delivery

Lead Post Setup

  1. Copy your POST URL from your destination

  2. Paste the full URL in the Destination URL field

  3. Change the method to POST

  4. Opta will auto-detect and parse all variables in the URL

  5. Map each variable to a field (preset, static, or campaign field)

Additional Settings

  • Billable Posting – Determines if accepted leads count toward billing

  • Forward Response – Shows the endpoint response to the publisher (toggle on/off)

Step 4: Define Response Handling

  • Response Code – Typically HTTP 200

  • Response Body – Define the expected success value (e.g., “true”)

Set the expected values so Opta can correctly interpret delivery success or failure.

Step 5: Run a Test Post

  • Enter test values (e.g., “Yes” for homeowner)

  • Submit the test

  • Review the result and troubleshoot if needed (e.g., duplicate email)

Summary

This workflow lets you fully control field setup and posting behavior for each campaign. Whether you’re passing to internal systems or external buyers, the Posting Flow Designer helps you stay flexible and accurate.
