Multi-Buyer Campaigns

Overview

Multi-buyer campaigns allow you to associate multiple buyers with a single campaign, each with their own unique configurations. This feature streamlines campaign management while providing granular control over targeting, pricing, and routing for each buyer.

Campaign Types

When creating a campaign, you can now choose between:

  • Single Buyer: Traditional campaign type for brands or branded campaigns (even if posting to multiple endpoints)

  • Multi-Buyer: Allows multiple buyers with individual configurations within one campaign

Setting Up a Multi-Buyer Campaign

Creating the Campaign

  1. Create a new campaign as usual

  2. Select Multi-Buyer as the campaign type

  3. Choose your routing type (see Routing Options below)

Managing Advertisers

In your multi-buyer campaign, you'll see an Advertiser section where you can:

  • Add multiple advertisers to the same campaign

  • Configure unique settings for each advertiser:

    • Pricing

    • Caps

    • Schedule

    • Targeting (age, gender, location)

    • Pre-ping setup

    • Posting configuration

Each advertiser's settings work the same as classic Opta campaigns, but are now individually configurable within a single campaign.

Routing Options

Multi-buyer campaigns support different routing types (with more coming soon!):

Send to All

  • Sends leads to all buyers that match the lead criteria

  • Checks buyer availability based on:

    • Time the lead was received

    • Budget availability

    • Targeting parameters (age, gender, location)

  • If multiple advertisers qualify, the lead is sent to all of them

Highest Price

  • Sends leads only to the qualifying buyer with the highest price

  • If multiple buyers match the lead criteria, only the highest-paying buyer receives it

Round Robin

  • Distributes leads to active buyers sequentially, looping back to the first buyer after each full cycle

We recommend turning on waterfall for round robin to ensure your lead has the highest chance of being sold.

Waterfall Feature

  • When enabled, continues attempting posts until a lead is accepted or all buyers have been tried

  • Works with your selected routing type:

    • With Highest Price: Tries highest-paying buyer first, then moves to next highest if rejected

    • Continues down the list until accepted or exhausted

Publisher Management Updates

The publisher screen now includes streamlined navigation with quick access to:

  • Publisher payout settings

  • Posting instructions

  • Reporting

  • Aff and sub ID optimization

  • Cap management

All accessible through the vertical three dot icon in the publisher table.

How It Works

  1. Lead comes into Opta

  2. System checks which buyers are available based on:

    • Campaign schedule

    • Budget/cap availability

    • Lead details matching buyer targeting

  3. Based on your routing type:

    • Send to All: Lead sent to all qualifying buyers

    • Highest Price: Lead sent to highest-paying qualifier

  4. If waterfall is enabled, rejected leads are sent to next available buyer

Benefits

  • Simplified Management: Manage multiple buyers in one campaign instead of creating separate campaigns

  • Flexible Routing: Choose how leads are distributed based on your business needs

  • Individual Control: Maintain unique settings for each buyer while keeping them organized

  • Better Optimization: Easily compare buyer performance within the same campaign

Summary

Multi-buyer campaigns give you the power to manage multiple buyers efficiently while maintaining individual control over each buyer's settings. Use single buyer for branded campaigns, and multi-buyer when you need to distribute leads across multiple buyers with different configurations. The routing options and waterfall feature ensure your leads are monetized according to your strategy.
